Slinkard Creek/Carson River

On October 31, 2011, it was a nice fall day so I decided to try and fish for Paiute Cutthroat Trout.  I started out on my mountain bike on the Slinked Valley Road. The creek was to be 2.7 miles, four hours later; I found the headwaters to Slinkard Creek. It was small and over grown with vegetation, and unable to fish.  I will need to contact Fish & Game again and find out where to fish the creek, the season for Slinkard Creek is August 1 to November 15.

Not to let this nice day go to waste, I traveled over to the Carson River above Markleeville.  I switch to a Caddis emerger and was able to hook up with a nice Rainbow Trout.
